Facial Cosmetic Fellowship

The post-residency facial cosmetic surgery fellowship program, certified by the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery (AACS), is the most comprehensive fellowship available in facial aesthetics. It also qualifies surgeons to sit for the certifying board exam given by the American Board of Facial Cosmetic Surgery (ABFCS). (Surgeons may also qualify with equivalent experience.)

Through their match process, the AACS places candidate surgeons with board-certified facial cosmetic surgeons in private practice. These program directors serve as mentors and educators, giving fellows applied training on topics from aesthetic principles to creating and running a cosmetic surgery practice. Importantly, surgeons receive hands-on training with cosmetic surgery patients, following many cases from initial consultation to post-operative care.

Once surgeons successfully complete this fellowship, they may sit for the ABFCS annual qualifying examinations.

The hands-on facial cosmetic fellowship allows you to focus your training and learn cutting-edge techniques.

With unparalleled hands-on training and extensive study in facial procedures, technologies, and aesthetic principles, this fellowship offers surgeons interested in focusing their practice a comprehensive path to becoming a fully qualified facial cosmetic surgeon.

As a fellow, you will serve as primary surgeon, direct assistant surgeon, or co-surgeon in 125+ procedures, including a minimum number of blepharoplasty (eyelid lift), rhinoplasty (nose reshaping), and rhytidectomy (facelift) procedures. You will also gain experience with the breadth of facial cosmetic procedures, both surgical and non-surgical, which are most commonly performed in cosmetic practices, such as:

Our aesthetic fellowships are run by established facial cosmetic surgeons.

Several of our board-certified facial cosmetic surgeons currently serve as fellowship program directors. Interested surgeons may contact the below directors for more information about a specific fellowship; visit the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery (AACS) facial cosmetic surgery fellowship web page for information about the fellowship program, including instructions for applying; or contact us to learn about the qualifying exam for board certification following successful completion of the fellowship.
